How to Network Market

Network Marketing Emotional Roller Coaster. How to separate "friendship" and a "business relationship."

Steps

  1. Set personal rules for yourself early on and stick to them.
  2. Don't get into any personal or business related discussions you wouldn't with anyone else on your team.
  3. Don't gossip about your bad day or experience to your team ... talk to your friend (outside of the business), spouse or even your mentor.
  4. Don't do anyone favors you wouldn't do for your team or upline.
  5. Whatever rules you set for yourself, just be courteous and well-mannered at all times.

Tips

  • By setting boundaries right from the beginning can surely help this out for future dealings with one another. It is imperative to your business that such boundaries are set in place even before anyone joins your team. It's equally important to have this mind set and rules for yourself before you join into any "team" business.
  • Favors, better treatment, special request you wouldn't normally do for others or otherwise different from what is usual can begin to crumble your business and build resentment fast if you decline them. You and your business partner or team can no longer yield positive and profitable results within your prominent duties together.

Warnings

  • Watch out when favors are asked of you and especially when you don't feel comfortable doing it. Even if the favor is asked of you by your upline. Stick to your moral guns and politely decline.
  • Stay clear of gossip! Don't get tangled up into it even if you feel strongly about it.

Things You'll Need

  • Friends are wonderful and even can be in a virtual business environment, but just keep the "personal" out while you are working. Try to keep a nice separator there while you two are engaging in work.
  • If you develop an honest friendship with your new team member, sponsor or upline and it's working with your boundaries that you've set, then GREAT! Just be dear to it, but treat them as you would everyone else while you are working. If you don't you could build resentment with the rest of your team.
