How to Mow a Lawn Professionally Colorado

A plush lawn makes any house look magnificent. We spend so much money on lawn seeds and chemicals to rid the grass of fungus and make the grass rich and green. All this is great, but what is needed is a good lawn mower, set at the correct height, and a method of mowing that keeps the grass looking luxurious.

Steps

  1. Make sure the lawnmower is the correct height. This makes the lawn look good. If the lawn is thick it is better to have it short, but not so short that the lawn gets lighter.
  2. When you start mowing, if the lawn has sides that are not open except for the gate or if they are not very open mow rounds. All this is is going around the lawn 2 times. Keep in mind when you mow that you only cut 1/2 way the full width of the lawn mower itself.
  3. After 2 passes go back and forth on the same side of the lawn going the longest way down.
  4. Take your weed eater (also called edger or weed whacker) and take all the long grass from around the flower beds and trees and what not. This is the most noticeable part. Try not to cut the grass too short, or "scalp" it. It could take weeks to re-grow

Tips

  • Know your equipment.
  • Make sure that the height of the mower is to specifications.
  • When mowing keep 1/2 of the mower in what you've already cut. This will make the lawn more professional looking.
  • When weed eating, after you are all done, turn the weed eater upside down and trim the sides of the grass so they don't stick out. Also, hit any weeds that may be growing in the cracks of the sidewalk and street.

Warnings

  • If something gets caught in the mower don't even try to fix it without turning the mower off.
  • When weed whacking, little plastic wires will shoot out at all types of speeds. You don't need to hold down the trigger all the way, it is only grass. That only leads to scalping, flying rocks/broken windows, and plus it is a real waste of gas. You can trim grass using half speed, maybe less. And always wear eye protection.

Things You'll Need

  • A Working Lawn Mower (Preferably Hi-Quality)
  • Weed Killer
  • Garbage Bags (Useful For Collecting Grass)
  • Eye/Ear protection
