Steps

  1. Lay your cell phone on the piece of fabric of your choice. Make sure that the fabric isn't too rough or it might scratch your phone.
  2. Take some chalk, or a marker, and trace the shape of your phone onto the fabric. Make sure that you leave a bit of space, so that your cell fits after the case is sewn.
  3. Put another piece of fabric under the one that you traced the shape onto. You may want the two pieces to match, or not, depending on your design ideas.
  4. Cut both fabrics on the lines that you drew with the chalk
  5. Sew the fabrics together, ugly side of the fabric facing outward. Don't sew the top though, because you need to get your phone into it somehow. :]
  6. Turn it inside out so that the nice side of your fabric is on the outside. You can decorate it with fabric paint if you want to!
  7. Customize! Make the case your own.

Tips

  • You might want to experiment with different fabric textures. It could be fun to make a few different cases, if you have the time.
  • Try hitching on a clip or key ring. that way, your cell will be easily portable in your cool new case.
  • These directions leave a lot of room for being creative. Take advantage of that!

Warnings

  • Even though this case will be stylish and useful, it really won't protect your cell from that much if you don't choose certain fabrics. If you want your case to make your cell more durable, choose a thicker fabric. Just remember that even if the fabric is water proof and resistant, it won't make your cell phone totally protected.

Things You'll Need

  • A cell phone. Or I guess you could do it for your ipod or mp3 player too.
  • 2 small pieces of fabric. At least a little bigger than your cellphone. And no, they don't have to match.
  • a piece of chalk or a marker to mark on the fabric.
  • a needle and thread, or a sewing machine
  • Creativity
  • Anything you want to decorate it with
