How to Jailbreak a 1.1.3 iPhone

Steps

  1. Downgrade your firmware to version 1.1.1. To do this you need to download the firmware at "http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-3883.20070927.In76t/iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw"
  2. Next, hold down the "Power" button and the "Home" button for 10 seconds, then release the "Power" button and hold the "Home" button for 10 more seconds.
  3. Connect your iPhone to Itunes.
  4. Itunes should say it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Then click on the "Restore" button while holding the shift key.
  5. A window should pop up. Then, find the 1.1.1 firmware you downloaded earlier and select it.
  6. Wait while it updates.
  7. Then, on your iPhone, go to "Safari" internet browser, go to www.jailbreakme.com
  8. Go all the way down to the bottom and click on "Install AppSnapp"
  9. Wait until it is done.
  10. Then you need to download "Ibrickr". You can find it at "http://cre.ations.net/blog/post/iphone-113-jailbreak-released"
  11. Then, open it with WinZip and "Extract" the file called "Ibrickr"
  12. Next, click on the extracted file.
  13. Follow all the instructions.
  14. Congratulations! You have now jail broken your iPhone!

Tips

  • Don't let the above steps intimidate you. This method is much harder and rarely used today. Just install ZiPhone ([www.ziphone.org]) and let it do all of the work for you.
  • Beware that you will need to "jailbreak" your iphone to download 3rd party applications. Be sure to 3G iPhone unlocking properly.
