Steps

Coloring
  1. Go to the local drugstore or look through your own collection of nail polish. Choose a color that you like best. You'll also need to buy some nail polish remover or a bottle of at least 75% volume rubbing alcohol.
  2. Begin with taking the battery cover of your phone off. This will make is simpler to paint the phone covers. Be sure to know if you are to paint areas around buttons or have a non-flip phone like a Nokia "Brick" phone then you should also buy a bottle of nail clear coat polish and apply at least 2 coats so the polish will last.
  3. Take the nail polish brush and smoothly apply your first stroke. Try to avoid any cameras or screens, you could use masking tape to cover them up and cut off any excess tape so it will only cover designated areas, the polish can and will ruin it. Keep painting it until all the areas of you phone that you wanted to paint are covered.
  4. Let it dry near a window that is closed since dirt and dust could cover up your drying masterpiece. Allow at least the recommended 6 hours for the paint to dry thoroughly since the polish may look dry it still has a tendency to be soft and flexible which means even the softest touch can leave an imprint.
Stickers and Jewels
  1. Add stickers. Be creative and create your own sticker by mashing up a collection of bumper stickers.
  2. Glue on some small jewels or crystals all over to give it a crystallized effect.
Accessories
  1. Buy a cellphone cover. There are an unlimited number of options available in cell phone covers. Picture here are stuffed animal covers for cellphones. Animals include cows, dogs, cats, pigs, and panda bears.
  2. Buy a few cellphone accessories to tie on or dangle from your phone.
Internal Styling
  1. Change your phone's wallpaper to match your new decor.
  2. Change your ring tone, so that it doesn't play the annoying automatic tone or song that you get when purchasing the phone (for example, T-Mobile's jingle). Download songs that goes along with your personality or songs that remind you of certain people.

Tips

  • Don't get any paint on the camera or screen.
  • When downloading ring tones, be aware of the cost per tone. Some can get up to $2.99 to $3.99 a song.
