Steps
- Make sure your room is clean, so that you don't end up with a bigger mess. Thoroughly go through your closet and remove any dirty clothes. Put them in a hamper or in the washing machine.
- Make separate piles of the following clean clothes to be folded and put onto shelves:
- Hang up these items:
- Skirts
- Anything that will easily wrinkle
- Blazers/jackets/vests
- Long sleeved shirts
- Put the following away neatly in your dresser:
- Stockings
- Belts
- Socks
- Undergarments
- Organize shoes onto the shelves or in bins. Put them away neatly, and label each shelf/bin, (e.g., sandals, boots, etc.).
- If you have rug, condition it, and if you have hardwood floor, mop it. Your closet should be clean and organized now.

- If any of your clothes are too small, give them away to charity or a younger sibling.
- If any of your clothes are ruined beyond repair, throw them out, use for crafts, or tear them up for rags.
- If you have a small closet, you may want to store out of season clothes elsewhere.
- To be super organized, color code all your clothes.
- Maybe play some music to have fun with it!
