Steps
- Clean out your entire closet. Take your clothes, toys, and other things in your closet and put them in your room.
- Find a color that is relaxing to you. Good colors to think about might be a soft purple, a powder blue, or a pale pink. If you are going for a more daring look then find a wild color.
- Find some posters of things like your favorite celebrity, favorite cities (i.e. Paris), or landscapes that interest you. Hang these up around your closet, but leave one area completely blank.
- Get a couple of beanbag chairs that match or are in the same color family as your walls. Or you could do something like dark purple bean bags and pink walls. Place them in one corner of your closet. Throw a couple of magazines and books in between them for when you just want to hang out there. (Or when you don't want your parents/siblings to find you).
- Make a Memories Board and hang it in the area with no posters. Put a bunch of pictures of you, your friends, and your pets on it.
- Get an old radio (or buy a cheap one) and put it near the door of your closet. This way you can still listen to music while reading.
- Find one of those little air fresheners and put it in a discreet place so that it always smells good.
- Get some bins for things like belts, toys, and other things that might clutter your space.
- Put everything back in your closet.
- Stand back and look at it. Personalize it so that it is definitely your closet.
Tips
- Don't go poster-happy. Too many will make your closet look weird.
Warnings
- Make sure you get your parent's permission before painting anything.
