Steps

  1. Make sure you have a name for your show or site. If you don't have a name, but it's up, you have a big problem. Think of something catchy, something people will remember.
  2. Think up a flyer design. Does your site/show have a theme? Is it really serious? Or is it totally random? Whatever it is, think of drawings that describe it, jot them down, and make a flyer from there. Pass it around school. Better yet, hang it up on everyone who was involved with the show's lockers. And for the REALLY daring, you can shove posters in between random people's locker slats.
  3. E-mail people. Tell the people you know in an e-mail, to visit your site or watch your show on whatever video site you put it on (i.e.-YouTube, Google Video ect.). Also tell them to e-mail other people the links. Or, you could create an email saying, "Send this totally cool video to everyone you know!"
  4. Tell a large group at a time. If you are part of a club or a sports team, tell the whole group about what you created. Who knows, maybe they'll take a look at it.
  5. Think of your own ways to let people know. If there aren't enough ideas here, or none that you like, think of your own ways to advertise. Chances are, people will find out about the things any way you get them to know.

Tips

  • Make sure you are ready to have traffic to your website or show before you advertise.
  • Be careful! What you put on the internet might offend some people. If you know people will be offended, don't tell them about it, or don't even put it up.
  • Be age appropriate. If your 8, and your web show is about Blue's Clues, don't tell high schoolers to go watch it. Or if your a high schooler, and the website you made is all about things that go on in your school, you can't tell younger kids about it. They won't understand it.
  • Get parental permission before you hop on your bike and throw flyers all over your town.
  • If you made a webshow bashing another webshow, and you know who does it, and that person knows you, you may not want to tell her about your webshow.

Warnings

  • Learn the rules about advertisement in your school/town. If you can only give out personal notes to kids you know, on your own time, don't make a big sign with fruity markers and put it up in the gym/entrance/cafeteria. You'll get in bigger trouble than it's worth.
  • Never go door to door. When advertising, you want to stay safe. If you don't know the people on your block, don't knock on their doors and bug them. It won't do much good.
  • Don't make chain letters. A "Cool Video-If you like this send it to your friends" is OK, but the creepy morbid ones aren't. Besides, they are illegal and your friends will be creeped.
  • Be careful about who you tell. Some people will only go there to make fun of you or to put you down. If you think someone will do that, don't tell them.
