Has your skeletal body ever irritated you to the extent that you felt a resentment at the figure in the mirror staring back at you? If so, then stop hating yourself because you are not the only one to feel the same way, as millions of other people round the globe dream of bidding goodbye to the skinny figure for a well-toned muscular body and have achieved it too!

This is done, not by looking for remedies in some journal or magazines that promise you a ripped body. You cannot trust them as the target readers and writers of these journals are often people with perfect genetics for bodybuilding which skinny guys do not have. If you opt for the quick fix solutions prescribed in these magazines without knowing the reason why you have a skinny body type your outcomes will be futile as well as painful, time wasting and often expensive too. Bodybuilding magazines will not help you go from skinny to muscle!

The main reason behind someone being a hardgainer and someone who gains weight quite easily is your respective metabolisms. In case of skinny people it is so high that it uses up your entire package of energy leaving nothing behind to add to fat or muscle growth while those with a slower metabolism can gain fat easier with excess energy but if they do weight lifting will also put on muscle much quicker.

A quick guide to the different body types i have been alluding to follows:

Ectomorphs: have a high metabolic rate. The skinny hardgainers are generally ectomorph because they consume the total energy generated in no time hence adding nothing to fat or muscles.

Mesomorphs: The natural athlete, mesomorphs have a metabolic rate that is well balanced. They take fairly little time to put on or lose weight without putting much effort so get the best of both worlds.

Endomorphs People with low to fairly low metabolic rate are endomorphs. This body type tends to a rounder shape and without regular exercise can end up quite fat but has the advantage that they gain muscle very easily and make very good power lifters.

Now once you know the reason behind your skinny body type, you can choose one approach to overcome this hereditary characteristic trait. An intelligent move would be one that allows you to take sufficient calories to energize your system. This will enable your muscles to grow smoothly and simultaneously having a solid regime of lifting weight that would accumulate power and mass. This would not tone your muscle as your metabolic rate is already on higher side and they would tone well; what you need is muscle mass growth!
