You broke traffic laws and caught over speeding. There’s a police car chasing you and asking you to pull over. Now what?

Before you succumb to nerves and get all panicky, take a deep breath and remind yourself that there are many ways to beat a speeding ticket.

Like most humans, a traffic law enforcer has a heart. The most helpful piece of advice on how to beat a speeding ticket, according to people who have actually put it in application, is to appeal to your traffic law enforcer’s humanity.

Before you make your pleas, let him do all the talking first. Allow him do the basics and follow his every request/command. Be humble and act polite. Do not argue with the police officer at this point.

Traffic law enforcers deal with people like you everyday, so give him something decent to work with. The best thing would be to admit you’re wrong – and he’s right. Police work is tough and the rewards, aside from personal satisfaction, are not that great. Make your traffic law enforcer feel proud to be doing his job. The better you make him feel, the bigger the chances of him liking you.

Then offer a sincere apology. Sooner or later – we’re hoping sooner – he will give in to this pitiful sight before him and will waive your speeding ticket. Mission accomplished. Oh, and don’t forget to say thanks.

Of course, it may not work every time. It all depends on the police officer and luck. Some police officers are more lenient than others and may let you off with a warning. Others will go by the book no matter how sincere your apology may be. However, it doesn’t hurt to give it a try.

With these simple tips, you won’t have to go to court and resort to costly legal means to plead your case.
